With only 18 created, the 18-karat white gold case contains a transparent sapphire disc that shows off the trademark skeleton tourbillon escapements with four time zone openings. Each is handcrafted and has 652 components. The buckle itself is also 18-karat white gold.
The company's jewels also stole the show at Sotheby's Magnificent Jewels and Jadeite sale in Hong Kong, 2008. At that time, a cushion-cut Jacob & Co. engagement ring (aka jacob the jeweler engagement ring) sold for $5.78 million and a gold and diamond necklace with earrings brought in almost $1 million. Right now, it is the collectors' items that are still bringing in big money, while other diamond jewelry is suffering a bit in the auction house.
